Coachbuilders Touring of Milan under the direction of Dott. Ing. Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni built several cars on the basis of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS . After winning the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, one of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS models earned the epithet “Villa d’Este”.

With this saloon, Alemano created a masterpiece of contemporary design. This one-off model is particularly arresting for its meticulous detailed work. Attractive two-tone bodywork superbly rounds off its striking appearance.

The Fiat 8V by Zagato had a production run of just 114 and was particularly successful in the motor sport arena. Thanks to its special design by Zagato, which primarily generated weight savings as well as aerodynamic benefits, the Fiat 8V Zagato recorded numerous wins in hillclimb events and circuit racing.

74. Ferrari 500 Mondial, 1954

Only two examples of the 500 Mondial with Pininfarina Berlinetta bodywork were built. It was based on the Ferrari Type 501 chassis with its small Type 110 4-Zylinder engine.
This car competed in the 1954 Tour de France Automobile and remained in Italian ownership until 1959. Appearing at Pebble Beach in the 1980s, it was subsequently sold to Japan and then belonged to one of Switzerland’s most important collections in the 1990s. Today the 500 Mondial belongs to Italian collector Emilio Gnutti.

Based on the chassis of the 1900 CSS, Milan coachbuilders Zagato built a limited series of this coupé. Thanks to its lightweight design, it proved particularly successful in racing events.

The 375 MM Racing Berlinetta in its street outfit by Pininfarina was presented at the 1955 Turin Motor Show. The hallmark features of this 375 MM, of which just ten units were built, are an aggressive front end and a dynamic rear in conjunction with a genuine thoroughbred race car displacing 4.5 litres. The sweeping front bumpers reminiscent of a sea eagle, the side window vents, the air outlets in the front wings and massive racing fuel caps at the rear lend this unique car a very special appearance. The 375 MM was fielded in races such as the Carrera Panamericana and in Le Mans, although the example shown here was never raced.

Built for an American living in Modena at the time, this Berlinetta Speciale displays many classic Pininfarina design features. One example is its wide-opening rear tailgate. An industrialist from Puerto Rico commissioned top Ferrari specialists Motion Products of Wisconsin with its perfectly executed restoration.

82. Maserati A6G/54, 1956

After this Maserati left the factory in June 1956 as a Berlinetta Zagato, it was involved in a serious accident during a test drive. The damaged car was subsequently given a new superstructure between 1957 and 1958. Today’s owner acquired the car in 2000, after which it spent several years undergoing total restoration, completed in March of this year.

Apart from Carrozzeria Touring of Milan, it was French coachbuilders Saoutchik who provided special bodies for the Pegaso, which had a very limited production run. Some Pegaso engines came with a supercharger.

86. Ferrari 410 Superamerica, 1956

No more than 17 units were built of the 410 Superamerica. This is the sixth example, which made its debut at the Turin Motor Show in April 1956. Its first owner was Renato Bialetti of Novara, who sold the car to the Saudi Royal Family in Riyadh. The current owner regularly enters the car in the Colorado Grand in the USA as well as other events. But he has also claimed several top prizes in major Concours d’Elégance in the United States. Its black and white bodywork is in keeping with the original colours.

88. Alvis TC 108 G, 1957

Hermann Graber built a total of 130 Alvis models at his Wichtrach workshops in Switzerland between 1947 and 1967. Up until the late 1960s, Hermann Graber, who was the official Alvis agent, made regular appearances at the Geneva Motor Show. This Alvis is on public show at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este for the first time following complete restoration over a number of years.
