62. Bentley R Type Continental, 1954

The Bentley R Type Continental was one of the world’s fastest production four-seater sports cars of its day. This Bentley R Type Continental was dispatched to New York in 1954 sporting silvery paintwork. The car was given its current green finish in 1957 and is presented here in this condition.

In all, 20 coupés were furnished with a special body by Zagato. The aluminium body was particularly light and eminently suited for reliability trials. This Maserati is presented for the first time at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este by its current owner after undergoing complete restoration.

This is the only one of 20 Maserati A6G 2000 models built by Zagato to feature the company’s signature “double bubble roof”. The car competed very successfully in the 1954 Mille Miglia. In the 1960s it went to the USA . Today’s owner discovered the model in a garage. The Maserati now returns to Italy in perfectly restored condition.

Jaguar had a surprise lined up for the motoring world at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show when it unveiled its new E-Type, which instantly became the star of the show. The model on display here was the one exhibited on the Jaguar stand in Geneva , and is presented at a concours for the first time by its present owner.

This exceptionally beautiful example of Italian bodywork design by Pininfarina was presented at the 1963 New York Motor Show. The completely restored Ferrari won prizes at various events in the USA and is being shown in Europe by its owner for the first time following its restoration.

The Lancia Flaminia Supersport Coupé with Zagato bodywork was produced in a very limited edition. Today’s owner acquired the car from its original purchaser. It is on public display for the first time since its meticulous restoration over a number of years.

Tom Tjaarda of Ghia Turin was the man behind the design of the De Tomaso Pantera. The model presented here has had a single owner since new and is presented in its original condition in the presence of its designer Tom Tjaarda.
