Pininfarina Anniversary
75 YEARS IMMERSED IN ART AND INDUSTRY

Cisitalia 202, 1947

Seventy-five years have elapsed since the Carrozzeria Pininfarina was first established at number 107, Corso Trapani, Turin. During this time the company has experienced growth and transformation, but continues to be a fountainhead of ideas and creativity, often anticipating trends but always displaying a knack for reconciling boldness with caution, and pinpointing emerging issues and problems associated with automobiles.

What was once a small but thriving bodybuilding, or carrozzeria business that created and built custom cars with the accent firmly on style and technical excellence has expanded to become an industrial group with over 2,500 employees and premises in Italy, France, Germany, Sweden and Morocco. It is a highly respected global partner of the automotive industry offering carmakers creative solutions based on unrivalled know-how and flexibility in every aspect of design, product and process engineering, and niche vehicle production.

Pininfarina has always had a style that is readily recognizable, from the early days when the company was headed by its founder, Battista "Pinin" Farina, right down to the present day. Despite amazing technological advances and developments in the methods used in the creative process, the guidelines for creating a new project remain unchanged at Pininfarina. Everything revolves around an unswerving focus on simple lines, balanced proportions, a harmonious interplay of convex and concave shapes, and a model of engineering and aesthetic perfection. No less important is the strong accent Pininfarina places on functionality, while also displaying a deep awareness of environmental issues in the use of raw materials.

Pininfarina has also produced high profile vehicles for Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Ford, General Motors, Jaguar and Rolls-Royce, without forgetting important agreements with the Japanese carmakers Mitsubishi and Honda, Korea’s Daewoo and Hyundai, and the Chinese auto makers AviChina, Chery and Changfeng.
