02. Lancia Theta, 1914

The Turin-based Lancia car factory celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2006. One of the earliest models from this tradition-steeped marque is the Theta, which is presented here as a roadster with a Torpedo body made in England.
04. Rolls-Royce Phantom I, 1928

Jarvis of Wimbledon added a trial configuration to chassis numbers 15EX, 16EX and 17EX, with which the chassis were then subjected to an intensive series of tests by Rolls-Royce. Chassis no. 17EX subsequently received a body and testing continued. In 1929, the 17EX was delivered to the Maharaja Bahadur of Jammu and Kashmir . The car remained in India until the 1970s and is now on display here for the first time.
06. Mercedes-Benz 700 SS, 1928

In the 1920s and 30s, French coachbuilders Fernandez & Darrin were renowned for their flamboyant bodies, which all claimed awards at the popular concours d’Elegance of the time. This Mercedes-Benz chassis was given a torpedo body by Fernandez & Darrin in 1932 and sold to a New York customer.
08. Fiat 520, 1930

This Fiat 520 Torpedo was exported new to Uruguay in 1930, where it remained until 1980. From 2001 to 2006 the car underwent comprehensive restoration and is now presented to the public for the first time at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
10. Isotta-Fraschini 8 A SS, 1930

The Isotta-Fraschini 8 A SS with a Castagna body was originally exported to the USA . Castagna was granted the patent for the top by Hibbard and Darrin. After more than 50 years of ownership by a US lawyer, the Isotta-Fraschini spent several years in restoration and is presented by its current owner for the first time at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
12. Mercedes-Benz 770 K Grosser, 1931

Body: Open 4-door Tourer, Castagna

This Mercedes-Benz 770 K with Castagna bodywork was delivered to New York in 1931. After changing hands several times and a lengthy stay in a museum in the USA , the model is being presented in Europe again for the first time.
