With styling very similar to that of the 330 P3, this model was powered by a V12 engine that had been radically redesigned by Franco Rocchi. The most obvious modification was the introduction of a three-valve cylinder head – two inlet and one exhaust. Fuel feed was provided by a Lucas injection system. The chassis was slightly shorter than the 330 P3’s, and the new suspension improved roadholding. The car won numerous races and earned its place in the history books after a memorable 1-2-3 at Daytona.

This official works car on display at Villa Erba was one of the three that crossed the line together at the 24 Hours of Daytona in February 1967. Driven by Mike Parkes and Ludovico Scarfiotti it finished second overall and second in class.

The car was then fielded at the tests for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in April 1967, when Mike Parkes clocked the second fastest time, before racing later that same month at the 1000km of Monza where Chris Amon and Lorenzo Bandini drove the car to an impressive win.

In June 0856 was driven to 3rd place overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans by Willy Mairesse and “Beurlys”.
