Alfa Romeo spanned the ravages of the Second World War during the 1940s with the carryover 6C 2500 model. The car experienced its debut in 1938 and the Milanese company was able to continue this successful chapter in 1946 without a break. As the Supersport, or SS for short, the gorgeous Alfa Romeo exemplified glamorous, fast and elegant travel. Designers like Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, at that time owner of Carrozzeria Touring, created a design for this advanced platform with a striking front end adorned by four headlamps, complemented by sleek contours and a short tail.

The elegant coupé won the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 1949 as the iconic automobile of its era. This car was one of just 36 built and Alfa Romeo delivered it to a 25-year-old Neapolitan owner in 1951. In 2005, the coupé was discovered in the Galleria Borbonica, the underground tunnel system in Naples. The complete Alfa Romeo bore witness to many years underground and was given a comprehensive and sensitive restoration in Italy and Germany from 2007 onwards.
