Save the date: 22nd to 24th May 2020
The date for the upcoming edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este has already been fixed. From 22nd to 24th May 2020, the gates to the grounds of Villa d’Este and Villa Erba will be thrown open for you. The very first Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este was held here in 1929. There is no other event in the world that offers so much history coupled with such prestige and exclusivity as this world-class contest.
At the end of May 2020, Cernobbio will become the go-to destination for automobile aficionados from all over the world. A select elite from the international collector scene will come together there once again. The official opening of the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este will take place on Friday 22nd May 2020.
The excitement will start to mount on Saturday when all the vehicles take up their positions in the morning. On 23rd May 2020, around 50 blue-riband and carefully selected classic cars will be appraised in the exclusive gardens of Villa d’Este. The traditional apogee of this lavish presentation comes when each of the vehicles parades on the terrace of the Grand Hotel directly overlooking the banks of Lake Como. This day is the sole preserve of participants and invited guests.
On Sunday, a procession will be staged in the park of the nearby Villa Erba. These grounds also occupy a majestic position directly on the edge of the lake and their expansive green swards offer the public audience the opportunity to take a closer look at these exceptional automobiles. This frequently also enables visitors to engage in discussions with the custodians and owners of the vehicles, as well as talking to celebrities from the automobile world – the Concorso Villa d’Este is recognised particularly by designers as a superlative travel destination. You are unlikely to find a comparable selection of legendary automobile jewels anywhere else in the world.
And let’s not forget the Concorso di Motociclette, which will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2020. Across the world, there is virtually no other opportunity to experience rare two-wheelers of this quality at a single venue. The motorcycles tell their own stories and symbolise the lifeblood of their owners, who have invested so much care in these eye witnesses to the development of motorised transport.
BMW Group Classic is also planning to hold special thematic exhibitions in 2020. They will captivate visitors and take them into an enchanting world with additional rare and exciting vehicles.
