Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2024 Corriere d’Eleganza V

Dear Friend of the Concorso,

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is one of the most extraordinary events celebrating automobile culture. But the very name of this occasion is simultaneously a byword for a serious contest. Anybody who receives the accolade of being a winner at Cernobbio on 25th and 26th May 2024 and is privileged to drive home bearing a prize for their Historic Car, has won one of the most coveted awards the world has to offer.

An illustrious and distinguished Jury will have been behind this decision. The Jury reaches its choice of the most  elegant and best preserved iconic ultimates, as well as the most faithful restorations, out of a total of 53 Historic Cars curated by our Selecting Committee. Each of these unique classics chosen to campaign in the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este has to meet the very highest criteria right from the outset. This makes the mission of the 13 highly qualified Jurors from all over the world extremely challenging. The group is made up of historians, designers, journalists, expert consultants and engineers. Their specific, individual expertise is mutually complementary. Two Observer Judges complete the Jury team.

Over the past 20 years, Lorenzo Ramaciotti has been Chairman of the Jury. As a designer at Pininfarina, he penned the coachwork for a variety of impressive Ferrari models. He values his team of Jurors made up of esteemed and respected connoisseurs. However, he is also aware that despite all the objectively established criteria, some decisions will only be reached after a lively discussion between the members of the Jury. “Sometimes there is no unanimity even about the Class Winners,” commented Ramaciotti, “and a ‘Best of Show’ award is almost always the result of in-depth deliberations by the members of our Jury.”

Lorenzo Ramaciotti and his Jury respond with immense enthusiasm to the surprising diversity of participating Historic Cars and their symbiotic setting in the exquisite environment. Their appreciation is matched by the passion brought to the event by all the participants, guests and visitors each year.

Today, we send you our warmest springtide greetings from Cernobbio,
Your Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este Team
