BMW – M4 CSL (2022)
Show Cars BMW Group
A legend is reborn. The exclusive and strictly limited two-seater BMW M4 CSL (Competition Sport Leichtbau – Competition Sport Lightweight) is the fastest and most powerful BMW M4 that has ever been factory approved and licensed for road use. It generates 405 kW/550 hp and it is supplied exclusively with rear-wheel drive. The car’s capability is clearly trending towards the race track. Because every kilogram counts here, strategic lightweight construction saved around 100 kilograms compared with the BMW M4 Competition, for example by using numerous components made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). Owing to this construction, the sprint from a standing start to 100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds and the top speed is 307 km/h – this means it is faster than any previous series BMW. On the North Loop of the Nürburgring, the world’s toughest race track, the CSL notched up a new record for series BMW automobiles with a time of 7:20.207 minutes. On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of BMW M GmbH, it is entirely fitting that the sportiest series BMW M4 should reprise the icons of motor sport with the designation CSL – the particularly lightweight and successful BMW racing touring cars from the 1970s.
